The most famous of the Verden auctions is the Elite Riding-Horse Auction. They have been established sind 1949, and they are therefore the oldestones in Germany and leading in the world. Horses, famous all over the word, such as Aramis (World-Cup-Winner under Mario Deslauriers), Mr. T (World Champion under Gail Greenough) or Walk on Top (World-Cup-Winner under Louise Nathorst) were sold here. The horses are delivered at least four weeks before the auction, and they are trained by a high-class team of riders and trainers under constant veterinary supervision. During the whole training period it is possible to watch and test the horses. The auctions take place twice a year, in mid April and mid October.
