Second Avenue - Suitability Test plus Horse Show Record

Here a stallion can receive his full breeding license at the age of six at the earliest.

After successful completion of the 30-day test (the requirements are the same than under avenue one) the three-year old stallion receives a temporary breeding license limiting the number of mares to fifty. If he qualifies in the same year for the "Bundeschampionate" for German Riding Horses, as a four-year old the stallion receives a temporary breeding license without limiting the number of mares. If he does not qualify then the stallion remains temporary licensed, however, the number of mares that he is allowed to breed is again limited to fifty.

A non-Hanoverian stallion as a four-year old can receive a temporary license to breed an unlimited number of mares, if he not only qualifies for the "Bundeschampionate" for German Riding Horses but also qualifies for the finals.

The temporary breeding license will remain in effect, when the stallion as a four-year old successfully competed in dressage, jumper or event classes at the A-level or in suitability classes. A Hanoverian stallion must at least once have received a score of 7,5 in one of the above named classes, a non-Hanoverian stallion a score of 8,0.
Once the stallion turns five, he is expected to really perform. To receive his full breeding license, as a five- or six-year old, the stallion must qualify for the "Bundeschampionate" for Dressage, Jumping or Event Horses. If he qualifies, he is fully accepted. If he qualifies as a five-year old, he is a fully accepted, when he turns six. If he does not qualify as a five-year old, he will not be licensed as a six-year old, however, he once again can try to qualify for the "Bundeschampionate".

The combination of the 30-day test and a horse show record is imperative. It is possible that a stallion is in training and performs successfully on shows, e.g. at the level of "Bundeschampionate". In this event, the stallion can complete the 30-day test afterwards.
