1993 the "Programm Hannoveraner Springpferdezucht" was created. This breeding programme should give the breeding of Hanoverian show-jumping horses new impetus. A part of the population should produce above average show jumpers.
About 1,300 mares with show jumping bloodlines in their pedigrees and good performances in mare performance tests or in competition were selected. They are supposed to be bred to a show-jumping sire. Main event for their offspring is a free jumping competition for three- and four-year-olds, which takes place in Verden in March or February every year.
The selected mares and stallions are published yearly in a catalogue, which also includes information about the mares' breedings in the previous year an a four-generation pedigree. This catalogue can be ordered at the Verband's office.
